Atlantic City man sentenced to three years for lookout role in casino garage car burglary

Kevin Thomas, 31, had pleaded guilty to third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary after surveillance video showed him keeping watch as a co-defendant searched a car at the Ocean Casino, prosecutors said.

An Atlantic City man who acted as a lookout while another man broke into a car in the Ocean Casino parking garage has been sentenced to three years in state prison, prosecutors said Monday.

Kevin Thomas, 31, was sentenced Oct. 13 by Superior Court Judge Daniel Kurkowski. Thomas pleaded guilty Sept. 3 to third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary, according to prosecutors.

Atlantic City police were called to the casino on March 31 to investigate a car burglary on the fourth floor of the parking garage, prosecutors said. Surveillance video showed Thomas keeping watch while his co-defendant, Adam Ross, 35, also of Atlantic City, searched the car and stole several items worth more than $500, according to prosecutors.

Thomas admitted during his guilty plea that he had been the lookout for the burglary, prosecutors said.

Charges against Ross remain pending, prosecutors said. The charges against him are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
