Atlantic City schedules three free and family fall events in October

The city plans a winter hat and glove giveaway with s'mores, a Harvest Town festival at Gardner's Basin and a Halloween party at the PAL building.

Atlantic City will hold three seasonal community events in the second half of October, including a giveaway of free winter hats and gloves, a harvest festival at Gardner's Basin and a Halloween party for families, city officials said Tuesday.

The first, called Glove, Hats & S'mores, is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 22 at Pete Pallitto Field on Fairmount Avenue. The city's Office of Multicultural Services is hosting it with the Mayor's Office, the Atlantic City Fire Department, Reentry Services and the Health and Human Services Department. Visitors can get s'mores and pick up free hats and gloves while supplies last, officials said.

Harvest Town, run by the Mayor's Office of Special Events, is set for 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 24 at Gardner's Basin on North New Hampshire Avenue. The city said it will offer food, games and rides, along with trunk-or-treat, laser tag, a pumpkin decorating station while supplies last and a hay bale maze. The rain date is Oct. 25.

Atlantic City Recreation will host Halloween at PAL: Monster Mash, a free event, from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Atlantic City PAL Building on North New York Avenue. The city said it is open to all ages and will include costumes, candy, music, games, arts and crafts, a photo booth and light refreshments.

Children at the Halloween event must be accompanied by an adult, and a waiver must be signed on arrival, according to the city.
